Where to go for a session? By now you have picked your favorite photographer, put a ton of time into your perfect outfits and threatened your family so the last thing you want to do is to pick a location for the photos. Ammiright?
Here are a few things to think of as we pick a location together:
Do you love the beach? Is that where your heart is at peace? Then let's do the session there. Beaches are beautiful-the wind making hair fly away from your face, the sand between your toes. The calm of the water. I'm in! We can build sandcastles and splash around or we can sit on a blanket and snuggle.
Is the beach not your thing? Do you already have all the family photos at the beach and need something different? Or are you not sure what you are looking for and just want some options?
I love to go to Emerson Point Preserve. There are so many different looks that can happen at one spot. The grassy area; the wooden stairs, the rocks on the beach with the Skyway in the background.
Maybe you have a family member with sensory needs and the sand is out of the question. Maybe your kids love the water so much they wont stay out of it for any pictures. (I'll show you mine from dragging kids out of the water and holding them for one more picture)
Gamble Mansion is another place that has so much beauty and no water or sand!
Buffalo Creek park is a very popular park. Many after school clubs and little leagues go there. It is always busy but has a ton of beautiful spots
In the spring, Hunsader Farms and their flower fields are breathtaking. There is a fee to use the fields and the hours do not allow for sunset photos.
I think my most favorite place, is my house. I have 5 acres and a barn and I can get so many different looks here. Plus, it's quiet, private and not crowded.
There are a few parks that I want to go to still and a few places that have super high fees. Looking at you Ringling.
When picking a spot it is incredibly important to have your photographer look into what fees and permits are required. It would be horrible to get ready, and get to your location to be asked to leave due to paperwork.
Finding your location is a fun part of the session planning process. I have a ton of ideas I cant wait to share with you
